Apretude (cabotegravir) is a prescription medication prescribed for HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) to reduce the risk of contracting HIV-1 infection.
Cabotegravir is an integrase inhibitor. It blocks an enzyme called integrase that the HIV-1 virus needs to regenerate and spread in the body. This can reduce the risk of the virus multiplying and spreading from the site of infection.
