Coastal Infusion can administer your Exondys 51 prescription at any of our south Florida locations.
Exondys 51 (eteplirsen) is used to treat a genetic disorder called Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) which is caused by a mutation in the dystrophin gene. This gene provides the instructions for making a protein called dystrophin which is essential for muscle function. Without dystrophin, muscles become weak and are easily damaged, leading to muscle wasting and weakness.
Exondys 51 works by skipping over a specific mutation in the dystrophin gene, allowing it to produce a shorter, but still functional form of dystrophin protein.
