Stelara IV (ustekinumab) are used for the treatment of various autoimmune diseases such as psoriatic arthritis, plaque psoriasis, and ulcerative colitis. It works by targeting a protein called interleukin-12 (IL-12) and interleukin-23 (IL-23), which are involved in the inflammatory process of these diseases.
Ustekinumab, the active ingredient in Stelara, is a monoclonal antibody that targets specific proteins in the immune system, interleukin-12 (IL-12), and interleukin-23 (IL-23). These cytokines play crucial roles in regulating the body’s immune response.
By inhibiting the action of IL-12 and IL-23, Stelara helps modulate the inflammatory processes involved in autoimmune disorders, reducing symptoms and providing relief to patients.
