Yervoy (ipilimumab) is a cancer medicine used to treat advanced melanoma. It can also be used to treat advanced renal cell carcinoma, non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), malignant pleural mesothelioma (a cancer of the lining of the lungs), colon or rectum cancer, and advanced squamous esophageal cancer.

Yervoy is usually used in combination with nivolumab (another cancer medicine), but it can also be used on its own for melanoma. The active substance in Yervoy, ipilimumab, is a monoclonal antibody that increases the number and the activity of a type of white blood cells called T cells which form part of the immune system, and which can kill cancer cells.
